Teaching our kids

“Every young athlete faces fear of failure. Learn how to turn mistakes into stepping stones for confidence, skill, and leadership.”

Mistakes are part of the game—and part of life. Many young athletes hesitate to try new moves because they fear making errors. At FC1 Touch, we teach players that mistakes are opportunities to learn, grow, and build confidence.

Here are 3 ways to help your child embrace mistakes:

1. Reframe failure – Teach them that every error is a lesson, not a setback.

2. Celebrate effort – Praise persistence and courage, not just results.

3. Practice in safe spaces – Create training drills where experimenting is encouraged.

By reframing mistakes, kids learn resilience, improve skills faster, and gain confidence that carries into school, friendships, and life.
